Original WW2 Era Signal Corps US Army With Case. The SCR 178 was designed prior to world war 2 for transport by pack miles, used predominantly in Europe in the early part of the war. The SCR 178 includes the following components. Radio Transmitter BC 187 A. Radio Modulator BC 288 A.

The entire thing is stored in a solid wood and metal hinged box marked Chest CH 48. No antenna and no headset. Original antenna attached to the outside of the box, may be available on the collector market or fashion your own.

Very clean unit, condition is very well preserved, units look very clean and nearly untouched in the many years since the war. This set is completely untested! I do not have the ability to test this item. It is as found, very very clean and well protected in its original storage case. It came from a serious WW2 collectors estate, I assume it was well cared for but I do not know if it has been in use or tested recently.
