This listing is for a Vintage CIA Spy Radio RS-6 Set Up with accessories and Bags. Not sure on the price? Made in the early 1950s for the CIA.
There were only about 10,000 of these made. This set is UNTESTED as I have no idea how to do so. Includes the RR-6 Receiver, the RT-6 Transmitter, the RP-6 Power Supply, the RA-6 Power Filter Accessory Unit, 4 Water proof Bags/Sleeves for transport, and a small accessory kit with its own water proof bag. While the 4 pieces of equipment are quite uncommon, the storage bags and accessories are far more rare. Overall I would say they are in good shape, though there is wear consistent with age and use.
I think that is part of the fun, just where has this radio been??? Below is some brief information about each item, if you need more info just ask.
The RR-6 Receiver seems to be missing its model and set numbers. Overall it looks to be in good shape. It shows wear all around such as dirt scuffs and scrapes that are consistent with use and age. All of the knobs and buttons seem to move as they should. Some of the screws on the back have some corrosion.
Also some of the screws around the sides where plugs are attached have a yellow color to them. The RT-6 Transmitter looks to be in good shape. It shows wear all around such as scuffs and dirt. There is a dent on the back of the unit. Plug looks to be intact. All of the switches and buttons and knobs seem to work as they should. The Morse Code Key flips out and seems to be working. The RP-6 Power Supply is in okay condition. It shows much more wear than the RR-6 and RT-6 units. The plug has a tear in the outer plastic covering of the short cord and has a little corrosion inside the plug holes. Also the knob seems to work just fine. The RA-6 Filter Accessory Unit is in good overall condition. Shows signs of it age and use including scratches, dirt and scuffing. The one switch on it works fine. The Power supply and Receiver plugs look good, but the Transmitter one has a little corrosion. Half of this unit is a storage compartment and was used to store two sets of wires (shown in last photo) and some cards (not included). There is also a diagram for set up inside this panel that is pretty cool, though it is vary delicate and chipping away in parts. The 4 Pouches are all quite dirty. The 2 brown ones look to be in better shape. The 2 black ones show much more wear and tear including a couple small tears. The Accessory set is VERY RARE to find with this unit.
It includes the storage pouch, a hank antenna, 2 battery clamps, an inter-connection cord, and a crystal. It is missing the earpiece and 2 antenna insulators. All show signs of use. The pouch is dirty but seems intact. The 2 Cables shown are in fair shape. The all black one is stiff in parts. The red and black one seems good but neither cable is as flexible as they should be due to age. Not sure what else to share. Great for display or collectors piece.
